Flomax is an alph-adrenergic blockers drug with the generic drug name tamsulosin. It is prescribed to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It is used to help men improve urination and works by relaxing the prostate and bladder muscles to improve urine flow. Tamsulosin comes as a capsule taken by mouth.
